| | | |   Born in Karlstad, Varmland in Sweden 1963, starting my career in Gothenburgh I now call Stavanger, Norway my home.
My musical story began in Karstad in Sweden when joining the local Big Band as a guitarist when I was 14-15 years old.
Influenced by american muscicians like Larry Carlton, Lee Ritenour, Joe Pass, Jeff Beck, Brecker Bros., Weather report, John Coltrane, Miles Davies, BB King, Albert King, Albert Collins etc., etc., the rythm section of the big band - Drummer, Piano player, Bass player, myself holding the guitar and two of the sax players formed a jazz and blues band called Carisma.
After doing some touring with this band playing "heavy metal bebop" inspired mainly by Brecker Brothers and weather report and some songs composed by myself, we only did one recording before the band split up 1980-1981 due to the fact that the sax players and myself got drafted for a year and a half in the infantry.
After me completing my military service I moved to Gothenburg 1983 starting a proffesional career as a contract piping engineer in the pulp and paper industry.
In gothenburgh I was performing as a guitarist in a new jazzband (fusion) and also in a gigging Rock band playing classic rock and roll in clubs in Gothenburg.
In 1986 I recieved a call from an Norwegian agent offering me a job as a freelance piping engineer working for Phillips Petroleum. Thinking a change of scenery would be fun a packed my car with to suitcases and The guitars. (Which was pretty much all the stuff a owned at the time).
Shortly after starting working in the oil industry I went to a few music events like concerts and pub sessions were I met Sveinung Knoph a rock singer and together with him we formed my first rock & roll band in Stavanger called the small and tall ones. After playing rough rock and roll for about to years I met my (ex-) girlfriend. We decided to have a baby and my son Christian Hauge was born 1991-02-28 and will soon turn 15 years of age.
From 1990 - 2000 I had a sort of a musical break bringing up my son and working as a Piping Engineer. Every now and again I played in various Cover Bands mainly Rock or Blues.
In 2000 I met a talented Blues vocalist by the name of Terje Vevatne. He gave me the task to put together a Blues Band for the local blues clubs in the county and so I did.
Together we formed a bluesband called Terje Vevatne and the Hijackers, and influenced by bands like the Fabulous Thunderbirds we played motorcycle clubs and Blues Clubs.
Mr. Vevatne had to leave for the City of Bergen (there is a girl involved here , yes) But the band continued its journey with a new singer and a new name, Rude Mood.
Just before Terje Vevatne, my dear friend, took off to Bergen, we recorded the Album Thrillwalk with local musicians like John Lilja on Bass, Atle Strom on Drums, myself playing Hammond Organ and piano (!!), Oddvar Solheim on Guitars and of course the Blues Star himself, Terje Vevatne.
I continued in the Band Rude Mood until about 2002 when I got a phonecall from the very talented and beautiful female singer called Monique Eliassen. She wanted me to play guitar in her coverband playing rock and roll in the nightclubs...and so i did.
We also started the acoustic dout "Monique and the swede" (Monique og Svenskefan). We are now raveing in pubs and nightclubs, companyparties and and other events, just the to of us or with a full band for bigger occasions and events. I'm also playing with "my own band" called Penthouse hotpants (groovy and funky music) and another duet with the famous Norwegian Boxer Mr. Ole Klemetsen. All this to be read about in this WEB site constructed to ease my life when it comes to public relations and booking. I'm also recently extended my buinsess to include rental of PA systems for live performance. |
